Doug's insurance career spans 27 years in the industry, beginning at
LCBA in 1992. His LCBA career began as a programmer/analyst. During his
tenure at LCBA he has been in charge of underwriting, claims, member
service, fraternal department, sales, marketing, product development and
information systems. His broad range of experience serves him well as
President & CEO.
Doug holds a BSBA (information systems and accounting majors) from
Gannon University in Erie, PA and holds multiple insurance designations
to include FLMI, FIFC, ALHC and ACS. Doug first came into the industry
as part of an independent financial planning firm. He started out as a
programmer, writing custom code to help manage the firm's many clients
and their holdings. Over time his duties expanded to include research
and analysis of limited partnerships and other high risk, high yield
investments. Doug also worked on the firm's high face and/or high risk
life cases. Then he became the firm's retirement and estate planning
Doug is married to Noreen, his wife of 32 years and is a father of
four. Doug identifies himself as a "tinkerer" and works on projects such
as building model (RC) airplanes, restoring a classic car and remodeling
their home. He is an avid bicyclist and is active in PTO and youth
Ross Aresco plays a significant role in the continued development of
the association and is responsible for LCBA's financial operations. Ross
holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Skidmore College in
Saratoga Springs, NY. His career includes six years in public accounting
as a financial statement auditor: three in Boston with a "Big 4" audit
firm, Deloitte & Touche; three in Erie with a regional firm, Malin,
Bergquist and Co., LLP. Ross was introduced to LCBA while working on the
Malin, Bergquist audit team.
This background has provided Ross with financial statement audit and
internal control experience across various industries, including large,
public companies, for-profit and non-profit companies. Ross started with
LCBA in September of 2006 as Controller and transitioned to the Vice
President-Finance position in March of 2008. Ross is responsible for the
oversight of LCBA's day-to-day financial management; all financial
reporting and compliance; budgeting; tax reporting and compliance; and
the design and implementation of internal controls.
Born and raised on a Christmas tree farm in East Hampton, CT, Ross
met his wife, Michelle, during their freshman year in college. They have
three young boys. In addition to fatherhood, some of Ross’ other
passions include sailing, cooking, and competing in triathlons, as well
as trying to keep up with Michelle, who is an accomplished
Employed with LCBA since 2001, Becca has over 13 years experience in
technology, with an Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems and
an in-depth working knowledge of high-end insurance-specific database
systems as well as numerous state-specific insurance product filing
As Vice President of Administration, Becca brings to her daily tasks
the unique ability to manage both data and individuals, exercising logic
and sensitivity in making LCBA back-end operations work smoothly, with
continued improvement over time. She is also an active participant in
the Life Insurance Council (LIC), a professional networking division of
which LCBA is a member.
Becca's organizational skills are put to the test through community
involvement as well. An active member of her community, Becca is
president of Northwest Little Gridders, Inc., having served in other
volunteer roles prior to this.
Married to her husband Rusty, Becca is the mother of two boys and the
family shares two dogs and three cats. Becca loves being outdoors,
reading, bowling and spending time with her family.
As Vice President of Membership and Marketing, Michele is responsible
for the development and implementation of strategies, programs, and
procedures to create and enhance relationships between the Association,
members, local chapters and distribution channels. Overseeing the
marketing department Michele devises all marketing strategies,
implementation and facilitation for the Association.
Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in
Communications from Edinboro University her experience spans over 12
years in the public relations and marketing field. She is the 1st Vice
President of the Fraternal Societies of Greater Pittsburgh, Public
Relations Society of America NWPA chapter Board Member and President of
LCBA National Branch 1556.
Michele was born and raised in Erie, PA and enjoys a close
relationship with her family. She is the proud parent of her “furbaby”
Mya and likes traveling, attending concerts and being outdoors.
Walter H. Losee oversees both markets LCBA operates in – Pre-Need,
and Traditional. In the Traditional Market, Walter oversees the in-house
agents as well as the independent agents that are contracted with LCBA.
In the Pre-Need Market, he oversees the four regional managers that
represent LCBA to that market.
Walter holds a B.S. Degree in Rehabilitation from Pennsylvania State
University. His sales career started in 1978 with Curtis 1000, which at
the time, was the largest direct to consumer provider of envelopes and
custom printing. Coincidentally LCBA happened to be one of his
customers. Walter then moved on to spend a large portion of his career
working for West Publishing selling legal research tools to attorneys.
After a short period of time in the Financial Services field as a Broker
for UBS Financial Services he became a part-time Regional Manager in
LCBA’s Pre-Need market where he was responsible for the northwest corner
Wally and his wife, Holly, of 39 years reside in Meadville, Pa. They
are proud parents of two children Lindsay and Brent and grandparents to
5 boys: Christopher, Anthony, Walter, Nolan, and Landon. They enjoy
spending time with family and traveling. Wally has had a number of
interest over the years including Basketball and Soccer Officiating,
National Ski Patrol, local politics, and most anything related to Penn
Alex has been with LCBA since 1998. Starting as a programmer/analyst,
he was responsible for developing the entire IT infrastructure from
scratch including implementing Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint
Servers. Throughout his career Alex has focused on continuous process
improvement, streamlining our business applications, information
technology strategy and facilities.
Graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Technology from Gannon University, Alex has worked in plastics,
machining, and foundry industries making anything from pipe tools to
Tier 1 automotive parts. Programming and technology were always
intertwined with his work which led him to migrate to an IT career with
LCBA. Drawing on his knowledge in different industries Alex was Project
Manager for LCBA’s new building design and construction. He has
continued his education with additional course work at Gannon and Penn
Alex is the proud parent of two Australian shepherds and is an avid
sailboat racer. He also serves the Erie Yacht Club Racing Fleet in
capacities as a scorer and race officer.
